We just love the iPhone, most especially its successors- the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS. With Steve Jobs announcing last June 2010 about the release of the iPhone 4, it has stirred the iPhone community as well as the mobile and smart phone world into euphoria, owing to the great additions and improvements of the iPhone 4 compared to its predecessors.
Three days after its initial release last June 24, it has already sold around 1.7 million units blood beating the original iPhone (first generation) which took several months for it to sell a million units. Indeed, Steve Job’s latest wonder made it smoothly into the market like a real charmer!
Hardware Talks
iPhone 4 is a reinvented and much improved version of the previous iPhones and is very distinct most especially in terms of its exteriors. Most notably, the iPhone 4 is the thinnest Smart Phone released to date and as Steve Jobs claimed, it is 24% thinner than its predecessor the iPhone 3GS. The reason why the iPhone 4 was made this thin is because the exterior surface of the phone already serves as the antennae, thus saving the space in the interiors. The exterior of the iPhone 4 is divided into three bands, which are specified for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, GSM and UMTS reception.
The iPhone’s display is the classiest thing you will ever see because of its Retina Display, meaning the display and the sharpness of the screen is beyond the human eye’s distinction. Pixel count of the iPhone 4 has increased four times compared to its predecessors. Simply put, the images, videos, text and other applications are very sharp, vivid and crisp. This is indeed multimedia at its best!
Software Improvements
iPhone 4 uses the iOS 4 software- the latest of its kind. The phones processor is the A4, manufactured by Samsung and is clocked at around 800 MHz to 1GHz. That’s a great deal of speed which probably makes the user interface so smooth and sleek. The iPhone 4 also has 512 MB of eDRAM which adds to the efficiency of the phone to respond quickly and allow multi-tasking.
Battery life is extended up to 7 hours of 3G talk, 10 hours of non-stop Wi-Fi and 300 hours of standby time due to the increased battery size. Another distinct quality of this iPhone 4 is the front view camera which allows for a better and more enjoyable video calling experience.
The iPhone 4 is available in white or black casing. It is retailed at $199 for the 16 GB version and $299 for the 32 GB unit. This is literally selling like hotcakes and several partner providers have declared this item to be sold out in the first eight hours of release in the market.
There is more to the iPhone 4 than its sleek and sophisticated look. User experience is at max and multi-media capability is turned on into turbo mode. No doubt people went gaga over the iPhone 4 in the first few days of its release. With the iPhone 4, mobile living is once again, reborn and reinvented.
